Recently, we are seeing, lot of Police intrusion in public life. Fresh being, Ruchika case. Regularly, one hears about their atrocities, going unbridled. One of the recent happenings include their high-handedness in Madras High Court premises. They seem to be unaccountable to anybody. There is open politician- police nexus. Judiciary is mute spectator. They are not answerable to anyone. Media reacts only if brought to its notice. But its beating chest also seems to be of no avail. Under these circumstances, the common public has no recourse.
One solution, could be, a separate Tribunal (similar to sessions court) under each High Court, handling police cases, only. Para military central forces like BSF, CRPF, ITBP, NSG, etc. should have Central Tribunal, reporting to Supreme Court. This is some what similar to Military Courts.
* I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Robert Frost
