Advertisement, these days are going over-board, in India.A Some of the health drinks, targeting children and their parents, proclaim their qualities, as if, a Medical professional has recommended, by dressing the model actor in Doctors' garb. Indian Medical Association does not seem too bothered, by such acts. Even a infants' diaper advises (By one of "so called doctors") for constant wear during night. Another ploy, employed is quoting some statistics, without mentioning the source. One more method is to quote data as if they themselves have done the survey.
Apart from this some of the ads.' does not bother about normal manners and social ethics. A case in question is a toothpaste ad., in which a media group barges directly into the bathroom, without even knocking. It not only shows media in a bad light, but it also teaches our children, bad manners. A complaint to Advertisement Council of India, is of no purpose, as they throw-up their hands, saying, by advertisements norms, they are not wrong.
